Yesteryear Collection

First built in 1906, the Peugeot had a 12/16 horse-power, 4 cylinder engine cast in pairs, maximum speed of 34 m.p.h. The power was transmitted by chain to the driving wheels. Notable features of this Peugeot were the Traffault shock absorbers using rubber for the first time, which was both efficient and reliable.

The Peugeot Type 99 is a car produced by the French car manufacturer Peugeot at their factory in Audincourt in 1907. 324 were produced. The car was equipped with a 1039cc engine that delivered 9 HP. In the following years the engine was replaced by a 1527cc engine which produced 12 HP in 1908 and 16 HP in 1909.

The (Y5-3) 1907 Peugeot take its place in the line up in 1969. Peugeot is a favourite among collectors. Its colour combination is attractive. It is model-true and has interesting variants.

Variations/Rarities: This model was to be issued in blue, however on release it was in an all over yellow with black roof.
First runs had the rear front seat bead omitted and these are fairly scarce today.
The other main variation concerned the window colour. Some rare examples had very clear windows but the normal was a tinted window in orange from a pale orange to a very dark shade. These window colour changes were caused by using differently coloured perspex material. The clear windows are very rare with distribution mostly to South Africa.
Next recolour was in a metallic gold which ranged from gold to an orangey gold and a matt black chassis. As usual the interim version sported the previous black roof and these are classed as scarce also.
There is an interim version with metal wheels and red seats which is rare.
